Conventions, Deadlines & Fractured Bones

What’s uuuup?!

I am incredibly sorry for not posting anything, not replying and being absent for almost two weeks! I surely didn’t mean to!

What I have been doing all this time?

Beside working on my comic (which is almost completely finished, except for the last couple of pages being lettered) I had some dates with a couple of doctors and spent more than enough in hospital. About 9 days ago my right hand (I’m right-handed) started to hurt. At first it was just a little bit uncomfortable but it turned out to be really nasty very soon after.

First, I thought it might be something with the tendons because I worked that much but as I went to see a doctor it changed into “a carpal bone might be fractured”. I had a little accident while being on holidays in Scotland which seemed to be the cause. However, I convinced the doctor to give me another two days to finish my work before going to the hospital to check my bones, because if it really had been a fracture I wouldn’t have been able to finish the comic. Luckily I did get it done in time and after the CT scan I was told that it isn’t fractured. But it seems like one of the tendons that makes the wrist stable is stretched. Now I have to wear one of those deadly stylish wrist bandages that allows only a little movement of my fingers.

I apologize for every wrongly used vocabulary – I’m not that acquainted with all the medical terms.

Right now we’re having a convention called SPIEL/ Comic Action in Germany. It’s mostly about board games and a bit about comics. It used to be the only event close to some “proper” comic convention. Some Marvel and DC artists will be there and I am really looking forward to meet them.

Unfortunately, this year I can’t attend it as an artist due to my injured hand but it will still be nice to see some people again.

Nooow, about my COMIC!

Next week it will be given to the printing company – it is so exciting!

I was able to get a couple of different covers done. As I will only be able to use one of those for the actual cover (obviously) I will include maybe another one as a variant cover in the back as a part of the special/ making of.

This one I am not really sure about. I think it’s not catchy enough to get people to stop, pick up the comic and spark some interest. What do you think?

Have a beautiful weekend!
